“Dirty Cheap Shot” Springbok and Stormers Star Has Enraged Rugby Fans With Foul Play

Stormers back-rower Evan Roos was sent to the sin bin after a sinnicle offence, in their United Rugby Championship clash with Benetton yesterday. Roos took a blindisiding attack on Benetton flanker Manuel Zuliani, by forcefully driving his head into the ground.

This cheap shot was not considered a high enough degree of danger to warrant a red card, with Roos lucky to fall on the generous side of referee Hollie Davidson. After a lengthy TMO review, Davidson sent the 23-year-old to the stands, after just 25 minutes into the match

The Stormers then went on to win the match 38-22, with tries coming from Angelo Davids, Willie Engelbrecht (2), JJ Kotze, Clayton Blommtjies, and Marcel Theunissen. The Cape Town side continue to push on towards the top of the United Rugby Championship in third place, and are level on points with second placed Ulster.

The inugural champions of the URC, the Stormers know what it takes to go all the way in the competition. They have already qualified for the play-offs, along with the afromentioned Ulster, Glasgow Warriors, and comfortable league leaders Leinster.
