England legend Mike Tindall didn’t hesitate when naming his toughest opponent

#4. Dan Carter (New Zealand)

Revered as one of rugby’s finest fly-halves, Dan Carter’s precision kicking, tactical brilliance, and flair for the game made him a true maestro on the field. His calm demeanour under pressure and record-breaking performances solidified his place in rugby history.

TIndall said: “He is a double world champion, but he missed out on playing in the 2011 final through injury, but he showed his class in the World Cup final this year where he led New Zealand to victory. He has had sabbaticals, so that’s why I’m not putting him any higher.”

#3. Martin Johnson (England)

Johnson, a towering figure in the rugby world, captained England to World Cup glory in 2003. Renowned for his fierce competitiveness and uncompromising leadership, Johnson’s presence on the pitch inspired teammates and intimidated opponents alike.

Tindall said: “The leader of the great England team that won the World Cup in 2003, and not just the best player on the field, but off it as well. He led from the front , he was my type of captain and also the best second rower that’s ever played the game. Hated playing against him in the Premiership.”
