“2/10” – Five England hopefuls who flopped in the Premiership this weekend

Christian Wade (Gloucester)

After talking up his return to the Premiership, Wade’s debut was underwhelming. He saw little of the ball and when he did, Saracens winger Rotimi Segun kept him well-contained.

Wade’s impact was limited in a performance that didn’t live up to his pre-season confidence.

Ollie Sleightholme (Northampton Saints)

Usually a livewire on the wing, Sleightholme had a surprisingly quiet game. The ball rarely came his way in attack, and he was substituted with nearly 30 minutes remaining.

His replacement, Tommy Freeman, another England hopeful, also struggled to make an impact.
