The experienced loosehead, boasting 48 Test caps for Wales and one cap for the British & Irish Lions, joins Quins to provide injury cover for the 2024/25 season.

Jones made his international debut for Wales against Tonga in 2017 and secured his first Six Nations start the following year. His 48 caps include winning the Grand Slam in 2019 and the Six Nations title in 2021. He also played in the 2019 Rugby World Cup and for the British & Irish Lions in 2021.

Domestically, Jones started at Llandovery RFC in the Welsh Premiership before moving to the Scarlets in 2013. Debuting for the Scarlets in 2014, he made 136 appearances and was instrumental in their Pro12 title win in 2017.

On joining Harlequins, Jones said: “I’m delighted to join Quins and can’t wait to test myself in the Premiership and work alongside an exciting group of players. I’ve heard great things about the Club and the supporters, and I’m excited to work with Bomb (Adam Jones) to improve my game and help Quins achieve our objectives this season.”

Head Coach Danny Wilson added: “We’re excited to have Wyn Jones at Quins. He’s an experienced and hard-working player who adds significant cover to our front-row. He’s a powerful scrummager and strong ball carrier who’ll become an integral part of our pack this season.”

Sam Warburton names his 2025 Lions XV, somehow includes three Welshmen

Writing in his Times column, Wales’ Rugby World Cup co-captain Jac Morgan was the sole Welshman in his starting XV.

Warburton also surprised many by including Bath tighthead Archie Griffin on the bench, following the 22-year-old’s impressive performances for Wales in Australia this summer.

He also selected Wales hooker Dewi Lake among his replacements.

Despite Wales’ nine consecutive Test defeats, the former Lions captain remains confident in their potential to contribute strongly to the Lions next summer.
