Joe Marler playfully quipped that he sincerely hoped his wife wasn’t tuned in to talkSPORT, following a slip of the tongue from Laura Woods.
The atmosphere in the talkSPORT studio on Wednesday grew sentimental as Woodsy assumed control of her last show.
He said: “My tummy hurts with sadness and butterflies on my commute train in on a Wednesday morning.
“It is just not going to be the same, Laura! You’re selfish, really selfish!”
Woods then made a cheeky offer to the former England star.
She replied: “Joe, I’ll call you up and you can have a private show!”
Marler then joked: “Erm! I hope to lord that my wife is not listening to this.” To which Woods said: “Tell her all I am going to do is read the headlines.”
Woods added: “Joe, thanks for coming on. You have provided a lot of entertainment for us on this show.
“You have also made us miss break times, we have covered absolutely nothing in 30 minutes.
“Here’s the rugby expert and we have spoken about something completely different, soft play. It’s been great. Have you enjoyed it?”
