Asher Opoku-Fordjour (Sale Sharks)
The 19-year-old only made his Sale debut last month and then came off the bench two weeks ago against Harlequins where Marler went out of his way to praise his potential in a live interview on TNT Sport (watch video below). “It felt good to hear from someone with such accolades to recognise me and give me a bit of praise,” Opoku-Fordjour said. “It was very cool.”
Fin Baxter (Harlequins)
The powerhouse prop, tipped by Marler to be a future England star, joined Harlequins’ Academy on a full-time basis in June 2020.
Baxter began playing rugby at Cobham RFC at the age of five and made his England U18 debut against Scotland in 2018.
Baxter made his Harlequins debut in the Champions Cup against Racing 92 coming off the bench in the 68th minute in December 2020.
Capable of filling in on the loosehead too, Baxter made his debut for England U20s during the 2021 U20 Six Nations. He recently signed a long-term contract extension to stay at The Stoop.
