LIVE: 2024 Paris Olympic Games Women’s Rugby Sevens Day 2 – Team GB & Ireland Push for Quarter Finals

Hello and welcome to RUCK’s coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics women’s rugby sevens. It’s day two of the competition in the French capital, with all 12 teams ready for the final round of pool stage matches, ahead of this evening’s quarterfinal stage.

Great Britain and Ireland are both looking to progress out of Pool B, with one win and one loss each to their names after the first day of action. Team GB got the bragging rights of the local derby to kick start the competition, yet were then hammered by Australia as the Wallaroos put out a real statement as the gold medal favourites.

Ireland recuperated from their opening round defeat to Team GB, and rallied back for an impressive win of their own, as they handed South Africa a 38-0 shut-out. Australia, New Zealand, France and the USA are the only undefeated sides left in the competition, with a few massive matches set to decide the outcome of the pool stages this afternoon. We will be updating the schedule below with all the tries and final scores, as they happen in Paris.

RUCK Chief Writer Tom Sansom will be covering the afternoon’s matches from 13:00, before London Reporter Jon Page takes over the updates from 19:00, for the evening’s quarter-finals and placing matches.
