“Owes six-figures” – Lawrence Dallaglio asks to be given extra time following wind-up order

Rugby legend Lawrence Dallaglio has been granted additional time to sustain his business amidst action from the tax authorities.

As per the Mail Online, HMRC has made an application to liquidate Lawrence Dallaglio Limited. However, his accountants are seeking an extension to repay the owed money.

A crucial vote by the tax authority and other creditors will decide whether the company can opt for a legally-binding voluntary arrangement, enabling them to repay their debts over an agreed-upon period.

Lawrence Dallaglio is facing a personal back tax debt of £700,000 to HMRC, which has prompted bankruptcy action against the former star. In June, he was given an extension to settle the amount, as he attempted to raise funds by selling a property.

Recently, he filed the accounts for Lawrence Dallaglio Limited, covering the 12 months up to April this year, disclosing that he took loans of £338,263 and £553,947 from the company in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

After partial repayments, he still owes the company £366,510. It’s important to note that Dallaglio is the sole director of the company, and the accounts reveal that, after deducting liabilities from assets, the company’s capital and reserves amount to just £2.
