Rugby presenter forced to step down from duty due to health problems

Emma Louise Jones, a familiar face in Premier Sports rugby coverage, has announced she is taking a break from her presenting duties due to ongoing health issues.

In addition to her rugby role, Jones also contributes to BBC programmes and Leeds United.

In early June, Jones shared an update on her condition: “My health hasn’t been in a great place for quite some time now and I’ve spent more time in hospital than my own home.

“I’m taking time away from work/life to focus on getting back to full strength. I’ll be back soon.”

Jones, who boasts over 345,000 followers on social media, received an outpouring of support following her announcement.

Among those offering well-wishes was Sky Sports icon Jeff Stelling, who tweeted: “Sorry to hear that. Hope things improve soon.”

Yesterday, Jones provided a positive update: “Hello! Thank you for all of your lovely messages checking in about my health.

“I had an op a month ago. I’m on high dose steroids & trialling other medication & (touch wood) I’m feeling so much stronger. Life is beautiful.
