Former Scotland rugby captain Stuart Hogg is set to stand trial later this month over domestic abuse allegations involving his estranged wife, Gillian.

The 31-year-old has been dating ITV racing pundit Leonna Mayor since his separation from Gillian last December.
Leonna Mayor, 33, known for her work on At The Races and her contributions to bookmaker William Hill’s media channels, was first seen with Hogg at a spa weekend just days after his ex-wife gave birth to their fourth child.
A former Flat jockey from Stoke-on-Trent, Mayor has been open about her skin condition in a courageous Instagram post and previously made headlines in 2020 for criticising top jockey Ryan Moore.
The couple, who went public with their relationship in November, recently shared photos from a holiday in Antalya, where they were seen jet-skiing, sunbathing, and enjoying time together in the sea.
Hogg, who was arrested in February, took a break from his punditry role at TNT Sports for several weeks. In April, he released a statement revealing he had spent time in rehab, admitting he was “lost, needed help and required time away from the spotlight.”
“Spending time at a rehabilitation centre allowed me to reset, learn about myself and talk about how I felt, without being judged. It’s not been easy but it was the right thing to do. Taking accountability was the first step in the right direction. I accept I have made mistakes and understand why I acted as I did.”
It continued: “Personal, private issues being played out in the public eye and online abuse are things that have impacted me significantly. I’ve not been able to deal with it. Online abuse is NOT OK. Having some time away has allowed me to see the world differently, be grateful for the things I have and most importantly, be excited about what is in front of me in the short, medium and long term.
“THANK YOU to everyone who has been in touch and offered support, friendship and love. You have helped me through the darkest of times and I will look forward to embracing what is next with you all. Hoggy.”
