Top 5 Tries of the First Two Rounds of the 2023 Six Nations

After just the first two weeks of the 2023 Guinness Six Nations, rugby fans have already witnessed some outstanding tries. These are all definite contenders for ‘Try of the Tournament’ with three tries coming in the critically acclaimed Ireland vs France match, and a certain Scotland winger scoring arguably the best Six Nations try in the competitions 24 year history.

  1. Duhan van der Merwe vs England

An honourable mention to his second try, but the first against England was a simply astonishing finish. Scotland’s answer for Jonah Lomu ran riot throughout the Calcutta Cup, with his performance sumarrised in this unbelieveable score.

Collecting the ball within his own half, and with a quick burst of pace exploded through Joe Marchant to break the gain-line. The winger then glided passed the tackle attempt of Ollie Chessum, and threw a stutter-step to evade the chop tackle attempt of Freddie Steward, before a strong fend on Alex Dombrandt and diving to score what is truly one of the great Six Nations tries.
