Sam Underhill will likely miss the Autumn Nations Series

England flanker Sam Underhill will miss the Autumn Nations Series because of a shoulder problem that requires surgery.

The back-rower, who missed a large chunk of last season due to concussion issues, suffered yet another head knock during the tour of Australia.

His club, however, has revealed he is currently missing due to a different reason.

“Sam Underhill is to undergo surgery on a shoulder issue,” Bath said.

“The operation will see the Bath Rugby back row forward sidelined for approximately twelve weeks.”

It’s also bad news for prop Beno Obano who will be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

“The club can also confirm Beno Obano’s knee injury required surgery, which was successful,” Bath added.

“He will now begin his rehabilitation with the Bath Rugby medical staff.”
